A
personal note from the creator of studio ViaNia
Welcome
to studio ViaNia! A place of joyful dancing, healthy movement and personal
empowerment. Whether you are looking to add more fluidity and ease to your
movements, a way to release tension, get fit or just wanting to get your
groove on to soulful and melodic music – you’ve come to the right
place!
Studio
ViaNia - Behind the Name
When
I was in the process of defining a name to represent my space of Nia
classes and activities, I wanted it to evoke a place where Nia could grow
with people, where their joyful class experience could step outside the
boundaries of the studio and into every aspect of living; becoming a
lifestyle practice of dancing through life; of turning everyday movement
into a dance. From this concept, studio
ViaNia was born.
Via
in Italian means "the way". So I picked studio
ViaNia - which when
translated means "the way of Nia"...the
way of the Joy of movement, of your body's way, of balance & harmony,
of the pleasure principle, of natural time, of dancing through life and
finding beauty and inspiration in every part of the world around us.
Through
Nia, I invite you to discover the pulse and beat of your body’s way, to
unplug and surrender yourself to the spirit of movement! It will ignite
your spirit, enlighten your mind and invigorate your body.
I
like to think of our classes and workshops as a safe space to explore
oneself. Nia is joyful and self-honoring. At the end of class we are all
beaming, in touch with our bodies and more deeply connected. Come and
experience Nia with us!
We’d
love to hear from you. So if you have any questions or comments, please
feel free to contact us at 514-485-1508 or by e-mail at
info@studioviania.com.
I hope that your Nia experience will make its way from the studio into
your life, giving you the courage and motivation to live your best life
ever.

Teacher
Biography - Katia Campobassi
Blue
Belt
A
longtime professional in the field of environment, health and safety,
Katia’s fascination with the well-being of mind & body has led her
to explore and practice a diverse range of movement forms and study their
healing effects on disorders such as chronic depression, anorexia/bulimia,
fibromyalgia, trauma, stress, scoliosis, and fatigue.
The positive outcome of her research moved her to continue her
studies through personal discovery and also as part of her craft.
It is during this journey that she discovered the Nia workout and
the joy of movement.
Nia taught her how to listen to the sensations in the body that are
often obscured by the busy mechanisms of the mind and media.
Not
long after her first class, Katia completed the first Nia white belt
teacher training certification course in Montreal and
continued her studies into Blue Belt certification with the founders of
Nia - Debbie & Carlos Rosas in Portland, Oregon..
Currently
certified in the Nia Technique with a background in Yoga, Pilates and
various dance forms and with an education in nutrition, anatomy and
holistic therapies, Katia brings a unique teaching style to each of her
classes; one that is dynamic, passionate and inspirational while
maintaining a systematic approach to learning.
She makes use of music, imagery and literature as a source for
aiding her students to connect with their bodies, step into their true
self, and find a balance between being and doing.
Her class sessions are set up so that you will further develop the
basic elements of space, time, energy, and form while increasing
suppleness and strength of body, mind, spirit and heart.
As Katia continues to
study the relation between movement and health, her main goal as a Nia
teacher is to awaken her students towards a joyous, healthful and inspired
life.
