AMANDA
MABRO
Collaborator
in workshops with studio ViaNia
Singer/songwriter
and voice coach
Amanda
Mabro began her career as a performer at an early age working in film and
theater. In the years that followed, Mabro took her beautiful voice and,
with producer/co-writer Cozmos Quazar, crafted sounds that fuse the smooth
and sultry vocal styling of jazz legends, the raw energy of Indie-rock and
blues, and the mysterious theatrical flare of German and French Cabaret.
Her music embodies a fresh exuberance and intensity that jazz based music
has seen too little of in the past three decades.
Her live shows
have proven to be remarkable, drawing
people in and getting them up on their feet singing freely and without
holding back.
She
recently released the albums Red Rows and Wine Flows and she and her
six-piece band have been called "the White Stripes of Cabaret."(Toronto, CIUT Radio). Her most recent performances at the
International Montreal Jazz Festival and Toronto Jazz festival were an
outstanding success.
Amanda's
work also extends to vocal health and fitness. She has been working as a
voice coach in Montreal for the last 2 years and is looking forward to
sharing her ideas about voice & the body in the forthcoming Nia &
Vocal Freedom Workshop.
